Kathleen, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, has spent over 15 years in the healthcare and senior living field. She has assisted and supported family members as they transitioned loved ones from home to memory support and assisted living communities. She worked as a consultant with a special care community; revamping their life enrichment program and implementing the Alzheimer's Association's Person Centered Care Approach-values and strategies for caregiving.
Over a five year period she worked with the Margaret Blenkner Research Institute, a branch of The Benjamin Rose Institute in Cleveland, Ohio, and a nationally recognized center for research in applied gerontology. She conducted research interviews for three national studies involving Alzheimer's patients, family caregivers and nursing home personnel. Results were subsequently published and used in the field. Kathleen has also participated in educational trainings sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association and was certified to be a volunteer speaker/educator on behalf of the organization to educate the general public about the organization's services and Alzheimer's disease.
The author has three wonderful adult children and is grateful for the countless moments of joy she has shared with them, other family members and friends. Currently she lives in Phoenix, Arizona, and works as the sales director at a local retirement community.
